7 things you need to know when you head to Clean Water Fest

Our annual event can draw thousands of guests. If you are one of them, these tips will help you make the most of your day.

Clean Water Fest is the biggest festival of its kind all year long. In this day filled with free and educational fun for all ages, we want you to have the best experience possible.

Here are seven tips that will help make this fest the best you’ve ever attended.

Plan ahead.

We have guests who join us when gates open at 9 a.m. and stick around until we’re closing up shop at 4. There’s plenty to do. You can see a full schedule of events on our Clean Water Fest Activities page.

Park and take our shuttle.

The event space is 4747 East 49th Street. But parking is at the bottom of the hill at our Southerly plant. Just follow the signs.

Our shuttles between parking and our event will cycle back and forth all day long.

Hit the Tour Sign-ups tent early.

We don’t schedule treatment plant or lab tours until the gates open. Visit our Tour Sign-ups tent next to the main gate when you arrive so you have the best opportunity to get the tour time that works for you and your group. Plant and lab tours depart every 15 minutes.

Taking a tour? Check your shoes!

We can’t allow flip flops or high heels on our treatment plant tours. If you plan to take a tour, you need sneakers, hiking boots, or hard soled closed toe shoes. If you are wearing anything else, our safety crew won’t let you on the tour.

Remember, this is a working treatment plant. We want to show you our work, but we won’t risk your safety.

Check our quick list of tour safety rules.

Food and food trucks

We will have popcorn and one free sweet treat available to all guests while supplies last. We will also have a food truck available and open for business. So if you want to stay for lunch, consider having a few dollars available.

We’ve got your bag.

With more than 50 exhibit booths and all sorts of games and giveaways, you could have your hands full of pretty cool stuff when you’re ready to leave. No worries, we’ll have a free Clean Water Fest draw string bag for every attendee at the registration table.

Talk it up.

Whatever social media platform you are on, tag our accounts and use #CleanWaterFest so we can share your experience too.
