Helping, on a high note.
Andrea thought her career was headed to music. It turns out public service struck all the right chords.
On the surface, Andrea Harris never envisioned herself working for a sewer company. However, after engaging in an interview at NEORSD, meeting employees, and experiencing the organization’s family-oriented culture, she was all in. “There is a place for everyone here,” Andrea said.
As a Talent Acquisition Specialist, Andrea finds her position intrinsically rewarding. Music was her original career goal, but she found her ultimate passion in HR and recruiting. “I really like seeing the joy this position can bring to someone’s face, especially when you’re opening doors for people for new opportunities,” Andrea explained. “Also, being able to showcase our brand and really show what we have to offer is exciting,” she added.
Andrea decided to join the Women’s Employee Resource Group because she wanted to expand her sense of community and gain new resources. “I also wanted to get to know colleagues and people I don’t directly work with,” Andrea said. Employee Resource Groups are just one of many networking and development benefits available to all employees. By being part of an ERG, Andrea has widened her lens of the organization and of people in general.
“To be able to get to know people, particularly through the Women’s ERG, is meaningful. As women, we are sometimes disadvantaged in the workplace, so this is a good resource. I can relate to everyone and have that sense of community,” she said.
