Sewereality: Discovery’s “Sewer Divers” series surfaces January 1

Sewer workers move from the shadows to the spotlight in new reality series and New Year’s Day can’t get here soon enough.

“Sewer Divers” series debuts January 1.

An unseen world and the laborers who work it deep under Cleveland will get their days in the sun in a brand new reality series coming to Discovery January 1.

“Sewer Divers” will feature sewer maintenance crews and their experiences from across the country — including a crew of our own Sewer System Maintenance & Operation department.

According to the Warner Bros. Discovery press release:

“Sewer Divers” takes audiences on a journey through the outdated, centuries old sewer systems in key cities across the U.S. that are maintained by the brave workers who do the job most people wouldn’t dare to even think about. From broken pipes to eye opening clogs, these workers will take viewers with them as they dive down deep to do all they can to keep our clean water running and toilets flushing.

The production has been months in the making. Camera crews followed our maintenance team across the region over the spring and summer. And the promotional trailer has us ready for January 1.

Among several employees featured in this clip are faces you may know from our Twitter account, Josh Jeffi and Todd Andexler. More will make their appearances in the series premier.

We’re all about telling our stories of service, and we’re excited to have been invited to participate in this project.
